GitLab Commit Policy and Accountability Guidelines
We’re updating our GitLab commit policies to require verified email addresses for all commits (Humans and bots). This change aims to improve accountability and ensure that every commit can be traced back accurately. The implementation will occur in three phases:
Phase 1: On July 30th, we will update the Admin panel settings to enforce the new policy for all newly created projects and groups. Please update your local setup according to the provided document.
Phase 2: On August 5th, we will run a script to apply the new policy to all existing groups and sub-groups. Make sure your local setup aligns with the document instructions.
Phase 3: On August 12th, we will execute a script to update all existing projects. Ensure your local setup and CI files are updated as specified in the document.
These updates are crucial for maintaining a clear and reliable development process. Your cooperation in following the document and making the necessary changes is greatly appreciated.
